July 3rd

Our day started with waking up a little too early at 5:30 am. We were all excited for our first day in Beijing to begin. We decided to take a long walk down Huguosi street, which our hotel is located on. Candy, our translator and guide told us the street is famous and attracts many tourists from different areas in China. In English it is called snack street. I just LOVE this area, it has many different shops and eateries, yet feels small compared to the big buildings and hotels all over Beijing.

After a delicious plate of noodles for breakfast from our hotel, we met our guide, Candy. Candy is soooo nice and is really a great guide, giving us a lot of info on everywhere we go.

We needed to convert money so we walked to the nearest bank in the area.We really enjoyed the walk. In Hutong area, everything including people, bicycles, cars, scooters, are so close together. I was enjoying the walk to the bank, looking at all the people and them smiling at us and then some not. It was at this point walking around here that I thought, oh how i love to travel, and never get tired of new experiences!

Today, we toured the Great Wall-Mutianyu area. In this area, you take a cable car up to the Great Wall, walk as much as you want on the Great Wall, then tabbagon down. We loved it!

After Mutianyu, Candy took us to lunch. We told her to order her favorite foods. We had Kung Pu Chicken, homemade steamed dumplings with vege's in the dumplings, green beans, broccoli, eggplant and pork over homemade noodles. The whole meal was so delicious!

After napping in afternoon, we headed out again see a show at the Red Theater called The Legend Of KungFu. The show was spectacular, and recommend to any coming to Bejing.

Everyone is sleeping now, and excited for our next day in Beijing!
