July 6th

We left our hotel at 7:00 am and headed to the airport. We said our goodbyes, and thanked Candy and Wang (pronounced Juan), our van chauffeur for showing us such a great time in Beijing. They were so kind to us. We will miss them!

Our flight to Guangzhou was nice and smooth. It was great to see the sky again, see some palm trees..it is really hot here. But that is okay with me!

Our next guide was at the airport waiting for us. Her name is Eva. She told us we will be staying downtown and she will be taking us around in Guangzhou. She said we would be on our own a little, but it would be okay. She also said we will have everything we need right where we are, with unlimited amounts of shops within steps of our hotel. And wow! She was right!

We are staying in a high rise hotel called Fraser Suites in Guangzhou. The room and hotel are beautiful. We are on the top floor. I took a panoramic view from our room to share.

I feel like I'm in some type of time travel movie....from staying in the traditional old historic Chinese district, to now a hi-tech, high rise living area overlooking a huge city.

Our hotel has a kitchen with washer and dryer, two bedrooms, two full baths, and a living room. The hotel has all the fun amenities, including some interesting ones I had never heard of before, a golf simulator room, a massage chair relaxation room, and a great looking toddler play area room.

Our hotel is connected to 2 malls. You walk out of our hotel on the 3rd floor and go into an older mall. You can also walk to a connected subway area that immediately connects to a brand new mall, under the highway. You don't even need to go outside.

Eva showed me where the food areas were at each mall. I was relieved to see Subway, Pizza Hut, and Burger King, just for familiar security purposes. And yes, we ate at Pizza Hut today.

Each mall has grocery stores located in the malls so we could buy snacks and cook some meals if we want.

That has been our day for now. We don't meet with Eva until tomorrow at 2:15 for more paperwork and getting Julia or aka ....Gotcha Day! I cannot wait and feel like it will be a long wait since it is not until the afternoon.

Thank you for praying for us! And helping us along this journey!
